Scholastic Book Orders
This week I will be sending home another set of scholastic flyers.  Please return checks only with the order form if you choose not to order online. This is a convenient, inexpensive way to add to your home library to help your child become a better reader.  The GRL code tells what reading level the book is so that you can be selecting books that are just right for your third grade reader!  The easiest way to order is online at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs.  Use the class code JZ3GZ to ensure our classroom earns reward points for the books we order.   Please return paper orders by March 25th, along with a check.

Order Books Online at Any Time
There are times when the order forms do not make it home.  When a parent places a book order online, we automatically get free shipping, so please feel free to go online and order any time, regardless of whether I have sent home a book order recently or not.
Donations Needed

~ Regular Size playdough containers.  It is my hope to get enough cans for each child to have their own (26).  We are planning to have some fraction fun!  If you have any at home you would like to donate or if you would like to purchase new containers, any number of cans you donate would be appreciated.
~ 26 plastic knives (for fraction fun)
~ Saltine crackers (these go like hotcakes!)

Parent Teacher Conferences / St. Paris Public Library

The St. Paris public library will be here in the third grade pod during parent teacher conferences to show a display of their services, as well as sign your child up for a library card if they want/need one.  Visiting the public library can really help boost your child’s interest in reading by giving them choices and freedom to read what they are interested in.  If you have a child who is hesitant to read at home or doesn’t have many books to hold their interest, I hope that you will take this opportunity to learn more about the public library and maybe even sign up for a card!
