Parent Teacher Conferences / St. Paris Public Library
The St. Paris public library will be here in the third grade pod during parent teacher conferences to show a display of their services, as well as sign your child up for a library card if they want/need one. Visiting the public library can really help boost your child’s interest in reading by giving them choices and freedom to read what they are interested in. If you have a child who is hesitant to read at home or doesn’t have many books to hold their interest, I hope that you will take this opportunity to learn more about the public library and maybe even sign up for a card!

Edible Soil
we were using and decided which part of the soil they would represent. The students helped me layer the edible soil so that it looked like a real soil sample. We then completed a diagram of real soil, making connections from the edible soil we just made. Finally, we ate our soil. Mmmmm Mmmmm good! Thanks to all students who donated items for our soil project. (The photos are not in order!) :)

Digging in Dirt
Using our scientific observation skills, we investigated real soil. One student found part of a barbed wire fence. Who knows how old that could be because it won't decompose. Students enjoyed getting thier hands messy and observing the soil. Doesn't everyone like to dig in the dirt?

Snow Day Makeup Info
From Mr. Glissman:
We have now missed six full days of school this year. Consequently, we need to make up one day already, and we'll need to make up every full day that we miss from now on.The first two days of spring break (March 31 and April 1) can and will be used as makeup days if needed. March 31 will be used as a makeup day, and the next full day missed will trigger the use of April 1 as a makeup day. Please keep this in mind as you begin to make your plans for spring break. Any other makeup days needed will be added to the end of the year beginning on Monday, June 2.
