Weekly Update

Learning Targets/Topics
Word Study/Spelling:
~ I can learn the routines for the word study rotation.
~ I can spell words with the beginning digraphs ch, sh, wh, th
~ I can spell high frequency words (HFW) correctly in
   written work.
Reading:
~ I can describe a character’s traits.
~ I can describe a character’s feelings.  
~I can describe a character’s motivations and how their
  actions impact the story’s sequence.   

Writing:
~ I can use the writing process to improve written work.
~ I can collect powerful language to help me with my writing.
~ I can write a personal narrative.
~ I can write a beginning that tells the reader about my    
  characters and setting.

Math:    
~ I can estimate sums and differences.
~ I can solve word problems and check the answer to make sure it makes sense.

This month we will be showing gratitude for the cafeteria workers in our building.  At the end of the month, we will cook them lunch! If you would like to donate toward this, please send in one or two quarters.
