Reminders
~This Tuesday will be a practice spelling test over the 5 words in the planner. Remember: Spelling tests will be on Tuesdays and new words will come home on Wednesdays. This Wednesday your child will bring home a list of 10 words that they will be tested on next Tuesday. This 10 word test will be graded and put in the grade book. Every Friday your child will bring home a “Buddy Check.” This practice test will tell them what words to study for their spelling test on Tuesday.
~Please sign your child’s planner each night.
~Please make sure your child fills out their own reading log. You only need to sign it at the end of the month. ~Some students still need a family photo for their cubby.
Flat Stanley
The Stanleys will be mailed out Monday with their letters. We are excited about this project and can’t wait to start getting them back to read all about their adventures!
Collage
We will be making a collage all about ourself for the cover of our writing notebook. Please send in any old magazines that you don’t mind us cutting up. We will be cutting out letters and pictures that speak to us to make our notebook something special. Please flip through the magazine before you send it in to make sure it doesn’t have anything you wouldn’t want an 8 year old to read about. ☺ We would love to have old catalogs as well! Anything with pictures will work great.
